The history of AFFI begins during a period when the government was increasing regulation and control over frozen food packaging, ingredients, prices, and quality. Since its inception, AFFI has grown and developed to meet the needs of a constantly changing industry.

For more than 60 years, the Institute has been a business partner to the frozen food industry in the U.S. and abroad. Today the Institute represents more than 90 percent of the frozen food production in the United States.
